Just In: Veteran Nollywood actor, Mr Ibu, reportedly passes on

Less than 24 hours after the demise of Quadri Oyebamiji popularly known as Sisi Quadri, another Veteran Nollywood Actor, John Okafor with the moniker, Mr Ibu, has passed away at age 62.

The Comic Actor who had undergone surgeries that led to the amputation of his leg finally succumbed to the cold hands of d£ath. According to reports, he di£d on Saturday, March 2, at a hospital in Lagos.

According to reports, the actor has been on life support after he underwent a second surgery for his ailment recently. The family source said that his bl%od pressure has been over 200 after he had the surgery and that efforts were being made to stabilize it before he sadly passed away today.

The actor battled with constant clotting of bl%od on his leg (diseased blood vessels) and other health challenges for years. In October 2023, he came out publicly to seek financial assistance to treat his ailment. There were plans to fly him abroad for further medical care but that plan was aborted by his doctors who believed he wasn’t fit to fly.

It would be recalled that before his demise, there had been speculations about his demise following his absence from limelight for over three years before the news of him being bedridden went viral.

It would be recalled that in 2019 Mr Ibu alleged that his kinsmen paid some of his domestic workers to poi§on him because of his successful career.

In May 2022, the comic actor again alleged that he was poi§oned for the third time.
In an interview with Vanguard Newspaper, Okafor disclosed that he was already “seeing people on the other side” but God brought him back to life.

He said his enemies were happy about his illness and thought he wouldn’t make it but God brought him back to life. The actor said his sickness taught him a “big lesson”, adding that he is surprised that he is still alive.

The veteran actor is survived by a wife and children.
