Kogi Confirms Two Cholera Cases, Sets Up Response Team

The Kogi State Government has confirmed two cholera cases in the state capital, Lokoja and in Local Government area of Omala.

Abdul Azeez Adeiza, the state Commissioner of Health, revealed that response centers have been set up and quick prevention tools have been released in order to subdue the spread of the disease.

He stated further that one case has been discharged while the other is under medical care, with no fatality recorded.

Adeiza equally maintained that the government of the state has provided the needed sensitization to the healthcare workers of the state, with professional equipments to respond to any outbreak within the state.

He implored the citizens of the state to be hygienic in order to stay free from the disease. Also, he stressed that community involvement is very important, he pleaded to community leaders to work hand-in-hand with health-care professionals.
