The lady on sighting the groom and his entourage bursted into tears and screamed to alarm the neighbors to come to her aid. She accused her father of being liberal in giving her hand in marriage to an elderly man in exchange for financial support given to the family by the groom in time past.

Our correspondent who visited the scene of the event shortly after the drama learnt that the young lady was bundled by the thugs of the Chief into a waiting van.
An eyewitness further corroborated the claim that Chief ordered thugs to pick up the girl and take her home forcefully. The thugs were said to have resisted the father’s attempt to stop them.Chief berated the father of the girl for trying to swindle him after all his financial support he had rendered to the family and sponsorship for the lady throughout her higher institution with an assurance of marriage after school.

In his own account, Mr. Salawu denied ever promising to give his daughter’s hand in marriage in exchange for the kind gestures.

Our correspondent further gathered that residents in the neighborhood especially those who are close to the Chief, accused Chief Adekunle Bashir Ajao of forcing poor parents to give their female children hands in marriage in compensation for his generosity to families in the past. He was said to have started engaging in his unruly act for decades. Another source close to the Chief claimed that he had on so many occasions forced young ladies in this same act. Many had disappeared into the thin air for safety from him because he has always boasted that there’s nothing the law enforcement agents can do to him.

The source berated Chief Ajao for always forcing young ladies especially those with prospects to marry him.

He said there are some of these ladies who have fell a victim in the past who were forced to travel overseas and not return home because of the fear that Chief Adekunle Bashir Ajao will always find them regardless of where they run to.
His words ” Yinka Aina was forced to relocate to Canada because of him. Also, Yetunde Funmilayo Akintunde also left Nigeria without traces and Shalewa Aliu- Ajayi also left her parents without coming back because of him with no traces of her current location.
There are other several instances shared about the old man who forced young ladies to run for their dear lives because of his acts of tyranny.

In 2009, a fresh graduate of economics from the University of Lagos was forced to relocate to Europe after Chief and his cohorts bombarded her father with series of attacks due to their resistance in giving their daughter’s hand in marriage. The lady, Yetunde Funmilayo Akintunde was forced to marry Chief and later left the country when her right was tampered with and no one was ready to hear her out.
Ever since her disappearance, her father has suffered several attacks from Chief without respect of the laws of the land. Similarly in 2017, Joy Angela Joseph left home without traces when Chief Adekunle surfaced in her family house after she graduated from the School of Nursing and Mid-wifery.
Honestly, the community can’t wait for something to be done to abolish the reoccurrence of forceful marriage from Chief.” He further show displeasure with the way Chief is becoming recalcitrant on a daily basis while boastful of being above the law.
