LG Elections: Lagos Police Announce Restriction of Movement on Saturday, July 12

The Lagos State Police Command has announced a statewide restriction of movement on Saturday, July 12, 2025, due to the upcoming local government elections.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the restriction will last from 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the election day, and it will affect both roads and waterways across the state.

However, exemptions apply to certain categories of people, including:
• Medical and other emergency service workers,
• Officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC),
• Accredited media personnel and election observers.

All exempted individuals are required to carry and visibly display identification tags certified by LASIEC throughout the election period.

The police advised residents to comply with the directive to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections.
