The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) have responded to a total of 1,072 emergency incidents in the first half of year 2025.

This was contained in a mid year report and made available to newsmen which stated that, “The incidents comprised 922 fire calls, 2 minor explosion incidents, 10 building collapses- eight of it were partial, 73 rescue operations, and 65 salvage incidents. The report also noted staggering 315 false emergency calls, emphasizing the persistent challenge posed by non-genuine emergencies.
”During this period, the Service commendably rescued 252 individuals from perilous situations, including fires and building collapses. Regrettably, 62 fatalities were recorded.
”The swift and decisive actions of the LSFRS were instrumental in protecting property across Lagos State. However, estimated property valued at approximately ₦64.32 billion was saved, while losses were estimated at ₦10.72 billion.”
