The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) has clamped down on Ruchi Automobile Company, Ikeja and illegal public toilets in the Egbeda area of the State, in continuous demonstration of its dedication to ensuring credible and sustainable wastewater management in the State.

The illegal public toilet operated alongside an okada wash outlet in Egbeda. The property was sealed off following complaints from concerned residents and confirmed environmental nuisance being constituted on the street as a result of the activities of the okada wash outlet users defecating in the drainages and the surroundings of the toilets.
The Ruchi Automobile Management Company Limited Ikeja, was also sealed by the office for the illegal discharge of raw sewage into the environment without recourse to the environmental and health implications on the citizens of the State.
The company was sealed up by the agency after it failed to comply with notices earlier issued on the facility to abate the nuisance.
Eng. Adefemi Afolabi, General Manager of the Agency speaking on these acts of environmental pollution, emphasised that the State has zero tolerance for environmental pollution and degradation.
The agency, according to Eng. Afolabi, remains undeterred in its efforts to ensure a clean and healthy environment for the sake of the public health of the citizens of the State.
The General Manager reiterated that facilities like public toilets and other properties in the State that fall foul of the law will continue to be sanctioned in line with the provisions of the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law 2017.
