Navy Deactivates 5 Illegal Refining Sites in Delta

Personnel of the Nigerian Navy attached to Forward Operating Base Escravos have deactivated five illegal refining sites in Delta community, As part of the ongoing efforts to boost Nigeria’s daily crude oil output and combat economic sabotage.

The coordinated operations led to the seizure of thirteen thousand liters of stolen crude oil which were discovered in thirty dug out pits and several Polythene sacks.

The achievement recorded under the Commanding Officer of the Forward Operating Base Escravos Navy Captain Ikenna Okoloagu, is said to be in line with the directives of the Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Idi Abbas led Operation Delta Sanity which emphasizes sustained pressure on economic saboteurs.
Five of the illegal refining sites were dismantled at Obodo Omadino in three separate operations on the 5th, 14th and 19th of November respectively.
