Nigeria Labour Congress Gives FG Seven Days Ultimatum To Reverse Anti-Poor Policies

By Ikugbadi Oluwasegun

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has given the Federal Government a seven-day ultimatum to reverse all perceived anti-poor policies, including the recent hike in the pump price of petrol, hike in school fees or FG should risk to face an indefinite nationwide strike from August 2.

This was made known on Tuesday, after the decision of NLC Central Working Committee (CWC) held at the Labour House in Abuja

The Nigeria Labour Congress has also directed all its affiliates and state councils to immediately begin mobilizing workers and other Nigerians, including civil society allies, for a long-lasting strike and mass protests.

It would be recalled that since FG removed fuel subsidy, Nigerians have been living in pain due to rise in cost of everything.
