Following a report by Tosin Adesile, Editor-in-Chief and Damilare Adeleye,(News Editor) of Sparklight News exposing an allegation of corruption levelled against Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, National Chairman of Police Relation Community relation committee(PCRC), the national body has reacted.
Earlier in the report, Alhaji Olaniyan was accused of massive misappropriation of funds to a total sum of about sixty million, three hundred and twenty five thousand naira (N60,325,000.00) and three hundred dollars ($300) being funds realized from registration of members and issuance of identity cards, belonging to the committee, as well as manipulation of the association’s constitution and flagrant abuse of office. His accomplices were also fingered in the scandal.
The allegations were contained in a petition filed against Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, PCRC Chairman, Amb. Mary Samuel, PCRC Deputy National Secretary, and Hon. Maina Digma Gana, PCRC National Treasurer, was filed by Omeiza Ibrahim & Co on behalf of Princess Dahiru Nana Ngozi, the National Welfare Secretary for PCRC dated as far back to as July 21, 2023, which was addressed to the Inspector-General of Police.

RE: HOW NIGERIA POLICE FORCE IS COVERING UP CORRUPTION, ABUSE OF OFFICE ALLEGATION IN THE POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE.
The attention of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has been drawn to a sponsored publication online with ficticious and frivolous claims by a disgruntled element who has continued to constitute and conduct herself with a very few minority in the NWC and as a matter of fact; with just 2 out of a 25 member NWC as elements of stagnation, retrogression and bitterness because she was not granted her desired wish of becoming the Coordinator of the PCRC National Women Committee at over 70 years of age.
After several attempts to stop the unprecedented progress being recorded in the PCRC under the current NWC led by the National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan for selfish and other demonic motives, this disgruntled element who has apologized severally for her unbecoming conducts at different occasions both within and outside the PCRC with verifiable records can only be described as a sworn enemy of progress who will stop at nothing but to continue dragging her bitter self and not the PCRC in the mud. It is on record that she has on several occasions tried to divide the NWC but failed woefully for reasons which we now suspect has an ethnic and political undertones.
In the history of PCRC, there has never been a time like now when the committee’s work of bridging the wild gap between the Police and the community has been so effectively and massively carried out across all the states of the federation, most especially in the South-East where this disgruntled element unfortunately comes from. No doubt, the people of the zone are very good people as evident in the action of all members of the National Executive Council (NEC) from the South-East Geopolitical Zone who at the heat of the trouble maker’s bullets, joined other State Chairmen, National Women and National Youth Committee leadership to pass a vote of confidence on the National Working Committee (NWC) leadership led by the National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan.
Despite her failures with many unsubstantiated claims through series of petitions which have been and being diligently investigated, this bitter personality whose name was mentioned by the online media she sponsored has made many failed attempts to induce almost all NWC members and national appointees who swiftly rejected her offers and instead advised her to join the PCRC in moving the train of PCRC forward. Unfortunately, a former aid to the National Chairman on ICT and not Media as wrongly mentioned by her sponsored online platform fell for the pot of porridge she offered him. This poor orphan and street photographer who was adopted and engaged by the National Chairman out of pity from Abeokuta Ogun was induced by this disgruntled element to shortchange the PCRC of over Seventeen Million Naira (#17,000,000.00) through production of fake PCRC identity cards. It was this discovery that led the National Chairman and other National Officials to immediately swing into action and fortunately enough, recover strong and damning evidences from the former aide including a Toyota Camry Car and other valuable items he had purchased and kept away from his adopted father. It is on verifiable records that while all this evidence tracing efforts tagged kidnap was ongoing, this disgruntled element and sponsor of this online publication who had already rushed to hire a lawyer for the former National Chairman’s aide became angrier when the evidences provided at the Police station in Utako through the fast moves of the National Chairman and others who accompanied him was too strong for the realization of her devilishly orchestrated plans to implicate the National Chairman by helping the former aide to keep and clean up the damning evidences.
We have refused to mention her name and that of the former aide to the National Chairman which are already mentioned in the ficticious online publication out of respect for their immediate and extended family members who may cherish their family names more than they do, despite the fact that the former (disgruntled element) usually derives joy in defaming people’s character just as proven by her deliberate act of dragging the highly referred offices and personalities of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun and the Force PRO/National Permanent Secretary of the PCRC, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
Under the current NWC, the PCRC has made giant strides including the recovery of our National Secretariat Site in Jabi FCT Abuja which was almost lost to highly sophisticated conspiracy from both enemies within and outside the PCRC who have concluded plans to sell the land for almost a Billion Naira. We are now getting to understand why a National Chairman who bluntly refused an inducement of over Two Hundred Million Naira (#200,000,000.00) is now being baselessly accused of misappropriating fabricated figures by an enemy within. It is now also clear to us why this disgruntled element has failed to identify with the Nigeria Police Force or the PCRC during many recent challenges and record breaking achievements such as the #Endbadgovernance Protest to mention a few, despite still holding on to her position as the National Welfare Secretary but quick to hypocritically talk about repair of Police Barracks in her sponsored online publication when indeed, all she’s desperately thirsty for is a total control of the National Chairman to fulfill her personal ambitions and highly dangerous motives in the PCRC by retaining the office of the National Women Committee Coordinator which up till date, she has yet to congratulate the new appointee who is from the Northern part of the country or properly hand over to her.
We sincerely apologize to the esteemed personalities of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun and the Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi for this public embarrassment caused by a woman who have been condoned, given listening ears and allowed to retrace her steps for too long. Her proofs of many financial inducements to gather support are traceable to the bank statements of her very minute and lonely cohorts including the former aide to the National Chairman on ICT whose bank statements has shown frequent unexplained financial gifts such as offered but rejected by many others. For a long time now and due to her troubles, the PCRC National accounts quoted in her sponsored online publications have been judiciously maintained with approval of a vast majority of NWC members while the National Chairman continue to utilize his personal funds to cover majority of the highly fruitful traveling expenses and other approved constitutional engagements of NWC members which have changed the inactive status of nearly all the States, Zones and Geopolitical Zones of PCRC across the country to seriously active status. It is crystal clear that the high level progress in the PCRC all over the country, which ordinary should be a source of joy to a plain hearted personality is a huge source of concern and a big headache to this over 70 years old woman who is known and popular for bad headlines when indeed she should be playing the precious role of an elder and builder and not a destroyer.
She didn’t write a petition when the National Chairman through his progressive moves, facilitated Higher Educational Scholarships for 17 children of our fallen Police officers and men, there was no congratulatory message from her when the National Chairman again facilitated 2 separate buses costing Fifteen Million Naira (#15,000,000.00) and almost Fifty Million Naira (#50,000,000.00) respectively from philanthropist of high repute in Nigeria. We are certain that this woman will offer no congratulatory words when the construction of the PCRC National Secretariat begins on the land which they have conspired to sell but failed begin in no distance time. Fact is that this mole within the PCRC is intentionally bent on destroying a house built by highly dedicated patriots in the past and present by throwing caution to the wind with her unsubstantiated and frivolous claims of financial misappropriations, when in deed, all financial transactions in the PCRC gets majority approval for both planned and emergency engagements.
We implore well meaning members of the public and indeed all executives and members of PCRC nationwide to disregard in totality this latest move by the known enemy within the ranks of PCRC in Nigeria and her cohorts to draw back the unstoppable progress currently being witnessed through hardwork, commitment and dedication of highly progressive officials spread all over the country. With necessary legal advice and wild consultations, the NWC will take appropriate steps as deem necessary.

On the above subject matter vis. Online petition publication by a former PA to the national Chairman as clearly indicated,
- The petitioner is not from South East PCRC.
- The petition was not written by any member of PCRC from South East nor was sponsored by any member of PCRC from South East.
- Part of the posted petition as shown online was a petition that was written to the IGP and copied to the NWC, by the national welfare officer an exco- member from the NORTH CENRAL and not South East.
- The said petition was received by the NWC OFFICIALLY, A COMMITTEE was set up to investigate it and report back, the NWC approved and expended sum of N2.6 million, I personally loaned the Committee sum N1.2 million to carry on with its assignment but was letter reimburse.
- To Insinuate that some people from South East or some members from the SE are sponsoring the actions of the former aid to the NC is nothing but false hood.
- It is on record that the NC and his former PA are having issues, it is also on record that the petition written against the the NC and two other officers was by a known member who adopted her petitions publicly, the 9 man Committee’s findings and recommendations has been submitted to the NWC as we know.
- I want the Asst. National Publicity Secretary to correct this wrong impressions, remove all the name callings as the SOUTH EASTERN NIGERIA IS BIGGER THAN ANY INDIVIDUAL AND SHOULD BE RESPECTED AS SUCH.
- As members of PCRC, We have records of individual contributions to the PCRC as NWC members too.
TESTIMONY ABOUT THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN
A reader who commented on our website with name “Adedayo” affirmed that the story about Alhaji Olaniyan is 85% real because the National Chairman has the attitude. According to him, “I was their member many years ago and I have discovered his attitude when he was the then Chairman of Ogun State branch of PCRC. Let him face the law”.
A national executive member who prefers anonimity also said that despite the recommendation of the committee, Alhaji Olaniyan has continued operating without following the association constitution and he has continued spending the association money with access to blank cheques in his custody. He noted that irrespective of various petition, nothing will happen as the leadership of the Nigerian Police Force is solidly behind him.
NIGERIAN POLICE FORCE KEEPS Mum
All efforts to get reaction from the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi,to know if the force headquarters have wadded into the issue as well as the update on the petitions sent to the IG have proved abortive as calls sent to his phone number was not answered. Similarly, text message sent to the same number was yet to be responded to as at press time.
