Dr. Benjamin Oluwatosin Olowojebutu, first Vice President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), paid a courtesy visit to the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), accompanied by Dr. Ebbi Robinson, President of the Association of Radiologists in Nigeria.

During the visit, the delegation met with Dr. Linda Iroegbu Emeruem, Head of the Department of Surgery at RSUTH. Dr. Emeruem is the first female Neurosurgeon from the South-South and South-East region and the first female Associate Professor of Neurosurgery in Nigeria and West Africa.
Describing her as a woman of exceptional capacity, Dr. Olowojebutu praised her dedication to mentoring and supporting young doctors, noting her strong advocacy for resident doctors and consistent sponsorship of upcoming medical professionals.
He highlighted Dr. Emeruem’s instrumental role in securing accreditation for the hospital’s residency training programme, acknowledging her as a pillar of excellence, leadership, and service.
Dr. Emeruem, who is also a patron of the Young Doctors Forum, was celebrated as a model of inspiration and impact in the medical community.
