Mr. Kehinde Aremu, Director of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), NYSC National Headquarters has charged 2025 Batch A Stream I Corps Members to learn a skill, build their capacities, and gain technical assistance to cope with unemployment and socio-economic challenges.

In a message on Monday which was read by Mrs. Salamatu A. Muhammad, NYSC Nasarawa State Coordinator at the SAED opening ceremony at the Magaji Dan Yamusa NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Keffi, Mr Aremu emphasized that the SAED program aims to tackle unemployment and contribute to the nation’s economy. He encouraged corps members to participate fully in the program, noting that it would enable them to acquire entrepreneurship and hands-on skills.
The Corps Members were told they have potentials in an untapped human capital, energy, resourcefulness, creativity and adaptive ability. Mrs. Muhammad added that officials from the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and the Centre for Management Development would provide training on writing business plans.
Earlier, the Head of SAED for this orientation exercise, Mrs. Esther Odike, urged corps members to take the program seriously, emphasizing that acquiring skills would help them become self-reliant. While, SAED motivational speakers, Mr. David Oluwole and Mr. Waliu Dauda, shared their success stories, encouraging corps members to get involved and make use of the opportunities provided.
Thereafter, Mallam Mohammad Bashiru, Small Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria(SMEDAN) representative, took corps members through the SAED workbook, disclosing that the agency would support them on their journey to self-employment by providing financial assistance to those who pass the certificate examination at the end of the training.
