Ogun monarch drum supports for upgrade of institutions to varsities status, visits NASS

After lot of agitations on upgrade of some institutions in the Ogun State and Lagos, traditional rulers from the Ogun West Senatorial District visits the National Assembly on Thursday for the public hearing on a bill for the upgrade of some tertiary institutions to universities status.

The institutions in question include: Federal University of Technology Yaba (popularly known as Yabatech); Federal University of Technology, Ilaro (Federal Poly Ilaro); and the Nigerian French Language Village as an inter university centre for French studies.

Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly called “yayi” is the representing Lagos West Senatorial District who  hails from is the sponsor of the three bills.

Sighted at the venue of hearing are  yewa traditional rulers who are, the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle; Onimeko of Imeko, Oba Benjamin Olanite; Onipokia of Ipokia Yewa, Oba Olusola Olaniyan; Alagbara of Agbara Yewa, Oba Jaiyeola Agunbiade; Eselu of Iselu Yewa, Oba Ebenezer Akinyemi; and the Abepa of Joga Orile Yewa, Oba Adeyemi Adekeye, among others.

Their prayer to the Senate is to upgrade the Institutions in question to a full fledge University.
