Ogun Police Provide Update on TikTok Rape Allegation, Release Complainant to Ministry for Welfare Support

The Ogun State Police Command has provided an update on the rape allegation made on TikTok by Abigeal Nsikak, popularly known as Mirabel.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Command, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, said the complainant was received at the police station and subsequently taken to a medical facility for examination to verify her claims. He noted that she has continued to cooperate with investigators as due process unfolds.

The Command further disclosed that, in consideration of her welfare and support needs, she has been released to the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. The Ministry has assumed responsibility for her care and has assured the police that she will be made available whenever required as investigations continue.

The Police Command assured members of the public that the matter is being handled with professionalism, sensitivity, and diligence. It also urged the public to refrain from speculation and allow the investigation to run its full course.

The Command added that further updates will be communicated as necessary.
