The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ordered the immediate suspension of rallies in all it’s structures across the State with immediate effect.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Mr. Alex Kalejaye, Publicity Secretary, Ondo APC.
According to the State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, said the party reached the decision in sympathy with residents of the State over the current financial and fuel crisis in the country.
“The party has therefore directed party chairmen, and Directors-General at all levels, within the chapter, to suspend rallies, in sympathy with our people”, Adetimehin announced.
The party chieftain expressed regrets that the country is experiencing unusual cost of pump price, and shortage of cash a few weeks away from “an all-important general elections”.
He argued that the people of Ondo State have the right to be angry, and express same over the unfortunate development, but urged them to do so as patriots that believe in a better tomorrow.
He said, “As a party, we identify with our people at this unpleasant period. We agree they are exercising their rights, but urge them to do so with measure of restraints.
“Our strong believe is that this time shall fade soon”, he added
He acknowledged the tireless efforts of the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration to ameliorate the harsh situation, and ensure security of residents of the Sunshine State.
Adetimehin further called on chieftains and members of the party to show more understanding, and identify with those in their various localities, to ease tension.
