Pandemonium as Police Fires Gunshots at Yoruba Nation Rally,disperse protesters

Sunday Igboho-led group and the umbrella of Yoruba self-determination groups, Ilana Omo Oodua, led
by a renowed historian and former senator, Banji Akintoye, an Emeritus Professor who defy all odds and
went ahead with the planned protest at Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota, Lagos were dispersed by gunshots.
A warning was earlier issued by Hakeem Odumosu, Lagos Commissioner of Police on behalf of the Lagos
Police command that no rally should be held, citing that the rally may be infiltrated by hoodlums while
the proposed venue was locked ahead of the rally but some of the agitators dared the security by
spreading banners and flyers to announce their arrival and presence.
A few minutes, shots were fired and hot water from an armoured tank was sprayed to disperse them
which thrown the whole atmosphere in pandemonium while some of the agitators were seen getting
dragged into armoured tank by policemen.
