This was contain in a statement issued on Monday by Maria Dogo, Party Publicity Secretary, the PDP described the incident as “barbaric” and accused the state government of using security agencies to clamp down on dissenting voices.

According to the PDP, the abduction which reportedly took place earlier today and allegedly involved the police and other government-linked operatives is a continuation of a pattern of harassment aimed at silencing opposition figures.

The party also recalled that Hon. Edward Auta was previously invited by the Department of State Services (DSS) on June 5, 2025, over a Facebook post in which he criticized the poor state of road infrastructure in Kaduna.

The PDP called on the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the DSS to immediately intervene, halt the harassment of law-abiding citizens, and redirect their resources toward addressing real security threats.
