Police Order Probe into Kemta Incident, Reaffirm Collaboration with NSCDC

The Ogun State Police Command has ordered a full investigation into an incident involving officers from the Kemta Police Station at Government Technical, Kemta, in Abeokuta.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the matter has been referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a comprehensive probe.

The Command explained that the investigation would be conducted in collaboration with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure that due process is followed.

“The Command, working together with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, will examine the circumstances surrounding the incident exhaustively to ensure due process is followed, with a view to applying appropriate sanctions where necessary and preventing a recurrence,” the statement said.

The Police further reassured members of the public that all security agencies operating in Ogun State maintain a cordial and collaborative working relationship in the interest of public safety.

The Command also reiterated its commitment to professionalism, accountability and the maintenance of law and order across the state.
