A joint security team comprising the police, military, civil defence and members of the Anambra Vigilante Group have rescued the abducted Revered Father Stephen Echezona at Ihiala local government area of Anambra state.
Tochukwu Ikenga, Police spokesperson disclosed this in a statement which stated that, “the Reverend father who was abducted at a fuel station in Ichida, was rescued on Sunday morning when a gun duel between the Joint security team and the criminals operating in a white Lexus SUV abandoned the car in a bid to flee the scene and the Reverend father was abandoned at Ihiala community after a hot chase.
“The joint security team have taken over the scene in Ihiala for possible arrest of the armed criminals and recovery of the Toyota Highlander belonging to the Reverend father.”
