President William Ruto Withdraws Finance Bill 2024 Over Public Outcry

William Kuto, the president of Kenya has withdrawn the controversial Finance Bill 2024 after series of protests.

The President withdraw the Bill on Wednesday in a statement signed by him where he said, In response to widespread demonstrations against high taxation, After considering the wide spread of dissatisfaction by members of the public On the content of the Finance Bill 2024, I decline to assent to the Finance Bill 2024, and refer to the bill for reconsideration by the national assembly with recommendation for the deletion of the clauses thereof.”
