Protesters had gathered in their hundreds to protest against Police brutality in Osogbo today which youths all over Nigeria are also replicating in their respective State.
However, the protest which was meant to be peaceful turn bloody as Governor Adegboyega Oyetola was addressing the protesters showing support and readiness to push their agitations at Olaiya junction where the #Endsars protest was ongoing.
Some unconfirmed thugs who had mixed with the protester started throwing stones and all forms of destructive materials which ended up damaging two jeeps in the Governors Convoy.
The Governor had warned through his media aide, Prince Wole Oyebamiji who signed a statement explained that citizens protesting should be wary of hijackers whose motive is different from the protest.
The Statement noted that protest is an expression that isn’t meant to hurt the people or jeopardize the peace of the state adding that unfortunate elements with ulterior motive and evil intensions had infiltrated the ranks of peaceful protest of the State.
It further added that parents and guardian should keep any eye on their children and wards saying as Governments, the job it is saddled with is to protect its citizens and would not fold its hand in doing that.
On their hand, eyewitness account at the protest on twitter alleged the governors Convoy shot into the air when the Governors convoy was trying to forcefully leave and two protesters died and others injured .
In a message sent to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on media, Mabel Aderonke by our correspondent did not respond to the direct message sent to her to confirm if the allegation was true or not.
