A road accident killed two people early hours of today at Otedola Bridge inward the Berger axis of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway and two people were severely injured in another one that happened near UNILAG waterfront inward Lagos island on the third mainland bridge.

Preliminary investigations from the Otedola Bridge incident reveals that an unregistered vehicle, bearing two occupants including the driver was travelling on high speed and collided with forcefully into a moving heavily-laden trailer. The sheer violence of the impact proved fatal, culminating in the instantaneous demise of both occupants. In a disturbing twist, the operator of the involved trailer absconded from the scene with the articulated vehicle.
In another related incident, crash occurred at about 5:00 a.m. on the Third Mainland Bridge, proximate to the UNILAG waterfront inward Lagos Island. The accident, involving an empty tanker and a pure-water distribution van (SMK 67 XH), resulted in severe injuries to two individuals.
Meanwhile, an ambulance transporting a pregnant woman who was placed on oxygen and had to drive through one way because of traffic jam on Odo Iya Alaro bridge inward Maryland critically injured a dispatch tider who was on his right lane.The incident resulted in a grievous limb fracture sustained by the dispatch rider.
Preliminary investigations at the scene revealed that amid the protracted slow vehicular movements, a private ambulance (BED 508 EA) conveying a pregnant woman recklessly drove against traffic, this dangerous manoeuvre culminated in a forceful collision with a delivery motorcyclist legitimately navigating his designated lane, instantly inflicting a grave and excruciating fracture to his right knee.
