The series of unpleasant happenings around the country is gradualling taking the centre stage.
As Federal Government and few State Governments can no longer meet the demands of Nigerian Doctors is the reason for constant strikes. There is no doubt that the health sector is in comatose and many Nigerian doctors had decided to take the easy route.
The route,is seeking greener pastures outside the country where security of lives is guaranteed, better pay and excellent job service.
Of great importance is our leaders and few rich going abroad for medical treatment since the state of our own health sector is currently out of shape.
In Ondo State, the medical doctors are currently on strike since February 2021 over refusal to receive 30% of their salary which the government is offering instead of 100%.
The health situation since the first term of Akeredolu has been epileptic and nothing has changed till date. Sadly,he got another term and the situation has gone worse.
The Nigerian Doctors are currently on strike and the Federal Government is not willing to shift ground and the doctors are also not ready to continue sacrificing for a country that does not values its medical practioners.
During the wake of Covid-19, many Nigerian Doctor’s were offered Visa on arrival to the UK due to dearth of doctors while Nigerian Government continues to loose their best brains abroad.
The climax is the current recruitment of doctors in Abuja by an agency for Saudi Arabian Government.
We are about to loose another set of brains to Saudi Arabia.
Shocking is it when one of the applicants who granted a television interview said she graduated in 2011 and unfortunately, she met her teacher in 2021 at the same interview in search of greener pastures.
It is that bad.
It is high time the Federal Governments wake up from its slumber and spend quality part of Nigerian budget to revive the health sector instead of sending DSS to disperse them on an account of jealousy.
Even though DSS spokesperson denied the allegation but this cannot be far from the truth.
However, the health of the nation is the wealth of the Nation.
If nothing is done, the country is heading for a collapse.
