Six Soldiers Sustained Injuries As Boko Haram Terrorists Bomb Army Base In Borno

At least six soldiers were injured after suspected terrorists belonging to Boko Haram released drone strike on a military base in Borno State.

It was reported that the terrorists attacked the Forward Operating Base in Wajiroko in the Damboa Local Government Area on Tuesday afternoon (December 24).

A soldier who witnessed the incident said they heard what sounded like a jet followed by a huge explosion.He added that the terrorists had initially attacked the base shooting sporadically but were repelled by the troops.

Similarly, a military signal obtained on Wednesday confirmed the incident.

The signal added that a gun truck belonging to the army was damaged after the terrorists used multiple drones to attack the base.

It read, “AT ABOUT 231300A DEC 24, TERRS LAUNCHED ATTK USING MOR AND OTHER FIRE ARMS ON TPS AT FOB WAJIROKO IN DAMBOA LGA. TPS REPELLED THE ATTK, FORCING TERRS TO WDR IN DISARRAY.

“SHORTLY AFTER, AT ABOUT 231323A DEC 24, FOB WAJIROKO CAME UNDER ANOTHER ATTK USING MULTIPLE ARMED DRONES CARRYING LOCALLY FABRICATED GREN.
