‘They Want To Shed Blood Through Violence’— Emir Sanusi Reacts To Police Siege On Palace

The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sunusi II, has described the invasion of his palace by security forces on Friday as an attempt to instigate violence in the State.

In a Friday sermon, Emir Sanusi noted that some external forces were hell bent on distrusting the peace of the state through shedding of blood.

He accordingly urged the congregants to resist the temptation of taking the laws into their hands.

“What’s going on has to do with some persons who want shedding of blood in Kano.

“In the recent past they’ve made concerted efforts, to provoke our people to resort to violence by taking the law into their hands.

“I urge you my people, don’t fall for their cheap plans. Whoever comes to foment trouble in Kano, aims to destroy our heritage. Therefore, let’s endure and be patient; patience is not cowardice, let’s keep praying,” Emir Sanusi enjoined congregants.

Earlier on Friday, some heavily armed policemen and operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) blocked both entry and exit of the Emir of Kano’s palace in Kofar Kudu.

It was gathered that Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II was expected to escort the newly-appointed Wamban Kano, Munir Sanusi, to his district posting in Bichi.
