Tinubu Re-appoints Mele Kyari As NNPC Boss,Others

President Bola Tinubu has approved the re-appointment of Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari as Group Chief Executive Officer for Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

This is even as the President appointed Chief Pius Akinyelure as the Non-Executive Board Chairman, Alhaji Umar Isa Ajiya as NNPCL Chief Financial Officer.

According to Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, the appointment is in compliance with Section 59 (2) of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021.

Other appointees include Mr. Ledum Mitee as Non-Executive Director, Mr. Musa Tumsa Non-Executive Director, Mr. Ghali Muhammad as Non-Executive Director, Prof. Mustapha Aliyu as Non-Executive Director, Mr. David Ogbodo as Non-Executive Director and Ms. Eunice Thomas as Non-Executive Director.

Also President Tinubu approved the appointment of two Permanent Secretaries including Mr. Okokon Ekanem Udo as Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance and Amb. Gabriel Aduda as Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

“President Tinubu anticipates the fullest measure of compliance with the performance-driven and results-oriented mandate of his Renewed Hope administration in the implementation of energy policy that will monetize all available oil and gas resources of today while paving the way for the total exploitation of new and cleaner energy sources of tomorrow by this distinguished team,” Ngelale said.
