President Bola Tinubu has terminated the appointments of the heads of some government agencies under the Ministry of Information.
This affect National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), National Orientation Agency (NOA), Nigerian Press Council (NPC), News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, and Voice of Nigeria (VON).
In a statement released on Thursday, Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media Publicity, Tinubu has also appointed new replacements for all vacant position.
Those newly-appointed include; Mr. Lanre Issa-Onilu as NOA-DG, Mr. Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos as NTA DG/CEO, Dr. Muhammed Bulama as FRCN Director-General, Mr. Charles Ebuebu as NBC-DG, and Mr. Jibrin Baba Ndace as VON Director-General.
Other are Dr. Lekan Fadolapo, for ARCON, Mr. Ali Muhammed Ali as NAN-DG and Mr. Dili Ezughah as Executive Secretary for Nigerian Press Council (NPC).
According to the statement, the president charged the newly entrusted leadership in these important sub-sectors to innovate and create new opportunities for Nigerians to leverage upon through the effective reform of these key institutions of government which function to unify our people, reshape mindsets, and showcase this great nation to the rest of the world.
The statement added that the above-listed appointments take immediate effect.
