The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has apologised for an error in the inscriptions on the certificates issued to graduates at the 55th Convocation Ceremonies.
University of Lagos had misspelt Satisfied for Satisified on recently graduated students certificate.
The error affected all the students who graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in November 2024.
The certificate has the signature of Professor Folasade Ogunsola, Vice Chancellor of the University and Mrs. Victoria Abosede Wickliffe, Ag Registrar of the university.
The students who discovered the error had reached out to the university management concerning the implications of the error.
Reacting to the development in a statement issued on Tuesday by Mrs. V. Abosede Wickliffe, Registrar & Secretary to Council, which stated that, “We understand that this may have caused inconvenience, and assure our graduates and the public that measures are being taken to rectify the error.
“The issuance of the certificates has been stopped, and graduates who have collected these certificates are to return them for re-issuance.
We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in this matter.”
