The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Lagos (UNILAG) chapter has stage a protest on Thursday over the continous neglection of public universities by the federal government of Nigeria.

Dr. Dele Ashiru, Chairman of UNILAG ASUU chapter while addressing newsmen said, “Government must fund education and no nation can develop beyond the level of its education, The Union has consistency engaged government about the decay in the university system. The agreement that was signed in 2009 with the federal government that is yet to be implement has a provision that the agreement is to be reviewed every 3 years.
We don’t want public universities to die.”
