Nigerian Super Eagles has trashed Algeria with 2-0 advancing to semi-finals.
Nigeria secured a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco after a commanding 2-0 victory over Algeria in their quarter-final clash on Saturday evening.
The Super Eagles, coached by Eric Chelle, dominated much of the first half but were unable to break the deadlock. Nigeria’s best chance in the opening 45 minutes came when Calvin Bassey’s effort was cleared off the line.
The breakthrough came in the second half as Victor Osimhen rose to head in Bruno Onyemaechi’s cross, putting Nigeria ahead. Osimhen then turned provider, assisting Akor Adams for the second goal, sealing the win.
The three-time African champions will now face host nation Morocco in the semi-final as they aim to return to the AFCON final.
