Prince Dapo Abiodun,Ogun State Governor has advised resident of Ogun State to let moderation be their watchwords as they celebrate Christmas.
Abiodun gave the admonition in his Christmas message at the Ogun State Christmas Carol and Service of nine lessons at the Arcade Ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, enjoining Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper by extending a hand of fellowship to others, to enable them partake in the festivities.
Speaking further, he noted that the Service was not only a Carol, but a thanksgiving to appreciate God for his mercy to the people, the State and the country at large saying “this period calls for celebration and it is imperative that people should not lose touch with the purpose of the season, which is God’s love for mankind”.
He said the security architecture put in place by his administration had secured the State and made it one of the safest in the country, adding that investors had continued to troop in to explore its economic potentials.
In his sermon at the service, the Presiding Bishop, Sword of the Spirit Ministries and President, Pentecost Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Wale Oke, said man had been in darkness but God sent Jesus Christ at a period to bring light and redeemed man from darkness and destruction.
Taking his text from Isaiah 9: 2, the PFN President noted the social vices being experienced in the world today took it bearing from the Garden of Eden, emphasising that the world through the United Nations had been craving for peace.
He said the many challenges confronting Nigeria would be a thing of the past when Nigerians begin to open their hearts and receive Christ as their Prince of Peace.
