‎Teachers under the umbrella of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Ekiti State Chapter, have appealed to the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to ensure that Governor Biodun Oyebanji emerges as the party’s flag bearer ahead of next year’s off-cycle governorship election.

‎Speaking at a ceremony organized by the Union to officially endorse Governor Oyebanji for a second term, Comrade Sola Adigun, National President of ASUSS, said teachers in the state are ready to vote against the APC if the governor is denied the ticket.

‎Adigun noted that Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the welfare of teachers and the development of the education sector, describing his performance as outstanding compared to successive governments in Ekiti State.

‎In her response, the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, represented by her Chief Protocol Officer, Femi Ojo, thanked the teachers for recognizing the efforts of the governor.

‎She urge the teachers across the state to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and encourage eligible relatives to do the same, stressing the importance of exercising their civic responsibility in the forthcoming election.
