The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has intercepted a Lexus LX570 SUV bearing a concealed number plate marked “PRESIDENCY” and arrested its occupant for allegedly impersonating a Permanent Secretary attached to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

The vehicle was intercepted by police operatives at about 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in Maitama District, Abuja.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, preliminary investigations revealed that the number plate carried the registration number 10B218 FG.
The police said further investigations, following the suspect’s claim to be the legitimate holder of the number plate, revealed that the accompanying registration documents were allegedly forged.
The suspect was also alleged to have impersonated a Permanent Secretary attached to the Office of the SGF.
The command stated that investigations were ongoing and that the suspect would be charged to court upon their conclusion.
The police urged residents to remain law-abiding, cooperate with security operations and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station.
Residents were also advised to contact the command through its emergency numbers, 08032003913 and 08061581938, to report security concerns.
