The Nigeria Police Force in Ogun State has commenced joint security operations with other agencies to enhance safety and ensure a peaceful Easter celebration across the state.

The operation includes the deployment of a large number of personnel to safeguard critical assets, intensify patrols along major highways, and secure strategic locations to protect lives and property during the festive period.
Confirming the development in Abeokuta, the state capital, the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the initiative was necessary to strengthen security during the celebrations.
He explained that the coordinated effort involves patrol vehicles, tactical teams, and intelligence units aimed at boosting security presence, reassuring residents, and deterring criminal activities.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, has ordered the large-scale deployment of officers for traffic control and other operational duties throughout the festive period.
Ojajuni said the command would continue to collaborate with other security agencies to ensure effective coverage and rapid response across the state.
“The public is assured that these security operations will continue throughout and beyond the Easter celebrations. Residents are urged to celebrate responsibly and cooperate fully with security personnel,” he said.
He also encouraged members of the public to report suspicious activities or security concerns through the Ogun State Police Command’s emergency lines.
