Kashim Shettima, Vice President, has urged Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud to renew their commitment to peace, compassion, unity, and service to humanity.

The vice president stated this in a message to Muslims across Nigeria and around the world to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

According to the Vice President, the life and teachings of the Prophet offer enduring lessons in mercy, humility, justice, patience, and service to humanity.

He says the Prophet’s example demonstrated that true strength lies in compassion, while leadership must be guided by fairness, justice, and concern for others.

Shettima also urges Nigerians to draw inspiration from these values as the country continues to make economic progress under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He calls on citizens to strengthen the bonds that unite them, support vulnerable members of society, and reject hatred, division, and intolerance.

The vice president describes Nigeria’s diversity as one of the country’s greatest strengths, stressing the need to build a nation where people of different faiths and backgrounds can coexist in peace, dignity, and mutual respect.

“As we celebrate this sacred occasion, I urge Nigerians to remember those who are less privileged and extend kindness, generosity, and compassion to our neighbours and communities.”

He adds that the true spirit of Eid-el-Maulud goes beyond remembrance and should be reflected in the daily conduct of believers and their commitment to the values exemplified by the Holy Prophet.

While wishing muslims and all Nigerians a peaceful and blessed Eid-el-Maulud celebration, Shettima prays Almighty Allah to accept the prayers of Muslims, grant Nigeria lasting peace and prosperity, and guide the nation along the path of righteousness.
