The defence headquarters has refuted a circulation video depicting a mischievously cloned image of the Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede
on alleged intent of the military to forcefully recruit young Nigerians from the age of 18 years into the military against their will.
A statement by brigadier General Samaila Uba, director defence information said, the military remained a noble profession with thousands of patriotic Nigerians ready to willingly join its ranks as attested during various recruitment exercises into the 3 arms of the Nigerian military.
Brigadier General Uba noted that, the purported statement was never made by the Chief of Defence Staff or any of the Service Chiefs and should be discarded by members of the public as a calculated attempt to undermine the high level professionalism of the Nigerian Military
