NASS Urges NCC To Improve On Remittances To Consolidated Fund

By Ikugbadi Oluwasegun

The National Assembly has mandated the Nigerian Communications Commission to improve on its revenue generation profile and remittances to the consolidated revenue fund of the federal government.

At a budget defence session before the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, the NCC attributed its low revenue remittances for the year 2024 to lack of patronage of its 5G spectrum by telecommunications companies.

The Commission says it remitted One Hundred and Eleven Billion naira to the consolidated revenue fund last year out of a projected ₦332.8 billion

For 2025, NCC is targeting a revenue of 272.4 billion naira mainly from annual operating Levies and spectrum fees.
