The Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested no fewer than 90 foreigners in connection with cybercrimes.

The suspects, who were apprehended for allegedly defrauding Nigerians, were nabbed during a joint operation with other security agencies, following credible intelligence reports to their hideouts.
Rivers State Comptroller of Immigration, Mr. YI Abdulmajeed, confirmed that a total of 94 individuals were arrested, with 90 being foreign nationals.
It was learnt that 85 of the suspects were from Cameroon, five from Chad, and four from Nigeria. The group consisted of 74 males and 20 females.
According to Abdulmajeed, all 90 foreigners entered Nigeria illegally through unauthorised entry points and failed to provide residence cards or valid travel documents when questioned.
Meanwhile, two Nigerian nationals from Rivers State, who were found to be providing accommodation for the suspects, were also arrested in connection with the crime.
However, in response to the arrests, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap, has ordered the immediate deportation of the foreign nationals to their respective countries of origin.
