The Ogun State Police Command has said it cannot confirm reports alleging that popular entertainer Broda Shaggi was shot within the state.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the command said no such incident had been reported at any police formation across Ogun State.
The police explained that despite the circulating reports, there was currently no official record indicating that the incident occurred within its jurisdiction.
According to the command, investigations have nevertheless been initiated to verify the claim and ascertain the true circumstances surrounding the report.
“The Command cannot confirm that such an incident occurred anywhere within its jurisdiction. Additionally, no such incident has been reported at any police formation across the state,” the statement said.
The police added that it remained committed to professionalism and transparency, noting that necessary steps were being taken to determine the authenticity of the report.
The command also advised members of the public to rely only on official police communication while the investigation continues.
It further reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and maintaining law and order across the state.
