Police Arrests Two Suspects For Kidnapping in Edo State

Police has arrested two suspects for kidnapping in Edo State while assuring the good people of the State of improved safety, appreciates them for cooperating with the Police, while soliciting for more useful information.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by Moses Joel Yamu, Edo State Public Relations Officer, “The security strategies employed by CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, psc, mnips are yielding positive results with the arrest of suspected kidnappers.

On 05/02/2025 at about 0945hrs, upon receipt of information that suspected kidnappers were sighted somewhere at Ugonoba in Uhunmwode LGA.

The DPO Okuaihe leading the Operatives of “Operation Rescue” stormed the location. These suspected kidnappers took to flight on sighting the Police, they were chased, and the duo of Kamsiru Abubakar 20yrs and Akhor Daraman 28yrs were arrested.

During preliminary investigation, and as the news of the arrest circulated in the town, some individuals who were victims identified the suspects to be part of the kidnappers that kidnapped them last year.
Investigation has been expanded with a view to arrest other members of the kidnap syndicate.”
