POLICE CONFIRMS SUSPECTED KIDNAP OF PASSENGERS IN A BUS ALONG OTUKPO – UGBOKOLO – ENUGU ROAD

The Benue State Police Command, says it is investigating a suspected kidnapping case in Ugbokolo of passengers in a hummer bus with registration number 14B-143BN. The passengers were allegedly kidnapped and the vehicle parked by the roadside with their luggage.

DSP Udeme Edet, State Command Public Relations Officer in a statement explains that Police Tactical Teams, the Military and Benue State Protection Guards arrived at the scene, combed the bush and rescued one Paul Terna, who escaped from the kidnappers.

The Statement adds that additional reinforcement has been mobilized to the area to search for the missing passengers.

Meanwhile, a Statement by the Public Relations Officer of Benue Links Nigeria Limited, Johnson Ehi Daniel, reveals that the said bus was returning from ABEOKUTA en-route Makurdi and was attacked Sunday evening at Eke Olengbecho in Okpokwu Local Government Area.

The Statement further indicates that the vehicle, which had 12 passengers on board, was later discovered parked by the roadside at Eke with some of the passengers’ luggage inside but the driver and the passengers were missing.
