Professor Foluso Ebun Afolabi Lesi of the Department of Paediatrics, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine (CMUL) has been elected as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services) of the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
He was elected via an electronic voting process with 86 votes ( 0.86%) at the Statutory Meeting of Senate held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
Professor Lesi is a former Provost, College of Medicine, (CMUL) and current Board Chairperson of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
He is an alumnus of the College of Medicine University of Lagos, Nigeria where he obtained his MBBS degree in 1984 and consequently completed his postgraduate training at the same affiliated teaching institution, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) obtaining the FWACP (Paed.) in 1994. He bagged a Masters degree with Distinction at the University College London in 1997.
