The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has instituted a legal charges against the suspended Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa-Ari.
It could be recalled that the suspended REC came under fire following the supplementary election in Adamawa on April 15, 2023, after he announced Aisha ‘Binani’ Dahiru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the dramatic poll while the collation of results was ongoing.
The suspended REC who would be tried for his role in the controversial declaration of APC as the winner of the supplementary governorship election in Adamawa State, is being charged with six-count charge.
This development was made known in a press statement issued on Thursday by Festus Okoye, INEC Spokesperson.
According to the electoral umpire, Yunusa-Ari would be tried at Adamawa State High Court sitting in Yola, the state capital.
The court, consequently, has fixed July 12 for proper trial of the case.
