Three employees of the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) have been abducted while carrying out crop inspection duties within the institute’s farm in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The workers were reportedly taken by gunmen while inspecting crops on the farm located inside the institute’s premises.
The Oyo State Police Command confirmed the incident, saying it had commenced investigations and launched efforts to rescue the victims.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said security operatives were working to secure the safe release of the abducted staff and apprehend the perpetrators.
He appealed to residents and other members of the public with credible information that could assist the investigation or lead to the victims’ whereabouts to share it with the police.
The command assured that efforts were ongoing to bring the victims back safely and arrest those responsible for the attack.
