 Abuja-Kaduna train picks up fully after attack

After Last week Wednesday attack where bandits destroyed a portion of the Abuja-Kaduna rail track with explosives, forcing a disruption of train services on the route,full normal activities had resumed on the Kaduna-Abuja;Abuja-Kaduna routes.

The attack which led to a total halt of movement and rendered passengers helpless.

The Managing Director of the NRC in a widespread report,Fidet Okhiria, said the explosives damaged the rail track at a spot between Dutse and Rijana, an area that had recorded numerous bandits’ attacks along the Kaduna Abuja highway.

Many passagers who had purchased online ticket were unable to embark on their scheduled journey due to attack but had been opportuned to convert the ticket to a new one within a stipulated time frame.

Sparklight News who visited the Idu,Kubwa station as well as rigasa Station in Kaduna state discovered that activities has gone into full recovery without fear from the passengers.

It was however noticed that there were flagrant disobedience of COVID-19 rules even as all the coaches were filled to the brim.

Unlike Lagos train that you have to book physically,Abuja train can either be purchased online ahead of the trip or at the train station which was done to reduce unnecessary queues at the point of purchase and to encourage ordeliness was launched by the Minister of Transportation, Hon Rotimi Amaechi on January 20,2021.

In a chat with a rider who described himself as Mallam noted that the train option remains the best mode of transportation for him irrespective of the earlier attack remains rail.
He said if the last week attack happened on the road,it would have claimed many lives and this would have resulted to many casualties or what about huge ransome if people were kidnapped in the course of the attack?

He therefore urged the federal government to provide true leadership and security to ensure Nigerians go about their day-to-day activities without fear or favour adding that train remains the safest option and the cheapest to travel.
