Again, National Grid Collapses

By Ikugbadi Oluwasegun

The national grid has collapsed again as Nigeria’s Power generation dropped generating 0.80 Mega watt of electricity as at 4 pm Saturday.

Power plants contribution to the grid began to decline around 2pm to 2,797.16MW from the average 3,417.99MW around 1pm.

Reacting to the blackout in a statement on Saturday, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) said the power outage being experienced within its franchise is due to a system failure from the national grid.

“Please be informed that the power outage being experienced is due to a system failure from the national grid at 3:10pm today, affecting the power supply to our franchise areas,” AEDC added.
