The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has dissociated itself from the purported declaration of the Biafra Republic by some members of the Finland based group, describing it as a scam.
This was disclosed by IPOB in a statement issued on Sunday by Emma Powerful, IPOB Spokesperson, which stated that, “the pro-Biafra group has no hand in the purported declaration, saying those involved in it are in Finland and the real sponsors of insecurity in the south East region of Nigeria.
“The IPOB spokesperson added that the agenda of those who made the declaration in Finland, was to destabilize the south East, divide the people, cause panic and divert the attention of Biafrans and those sympathetic to their struggle.
“He stressed that there is no room for another Biafra declaration besides the one it’s late leader Odumegwu Ojukwu declared in 1967.”
