The daily suffering Nigerians go through persisted as petrol scarcity worsen in different parts of Nigeria on Wednesday forcing motorists to spend hours at filling stations while passengers were seen trekking distances as hike in transportation costs continues.
It was discovered that black marketers merchants were selling a litre of fuel at N250-N400 in many parts of the country ranging from Lagos and Ondo State.
Many motorists were either staying to queue or patronise black markets as passengers were made to bear the costs.
Amid long queues and waiting hours in Ondo State particularly in Akure,few filling stations who opened sold a litre of the Premium Motor Spirit at N190/200 litre as against the approved price of N180-N185/litre.
Sparklight News correspondent got fuel at a black market in Ilara Mokin for 300 naira with little queue as the price deterred many from buying.
There long queues at Bovas,Eterna and few filling stations that opened in Akure,Ondo State.
In Lagos,it was also observed that while some of the filling stations sold at N180/litre, others sold as high as N190-230 as motorists flooded filling stations which led to traffic.
Kegs,Bicycles got the attention of petrol attendants as cars were rarely attended to while let to long queues.
A motorist, who identified himself as Mr Lekan explained he had tried to get the product from more than two different stations before patroniing black market due to frrustration.
With this development,this may affect prices of commodity and movements may also be hampered.
