The Delta State Police Command has arrested four of its officers after a viral video showed them counting bundles of cash inside a patrol vehicle.

Police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, describing the footage as “embarrassing.” He said the officers have been identified and brought before the Commissioner of Police.
According to Edafe, two senior officers involved have been issued queries, while two inspectors have been detained and are awaiting an orderly room trial.
The arrest follows public outrage sparked by the video, which circulated widely on social media, showing the policemen seated in a patrol van handling stacks of money.
Edafe earlier assured the public that disciplinary measures would be taken, stressing the Command’s commitment to accountability.
