The 11th Federation of African University Sports (FASU) was brought to an end on Sunday 29th of September 2024, after 9 days sporting activities among 68 different universities in the continent of Africa gathered in Lagos, Nigeria to compete in various games.
The event held from September 20-29, 2024, marks a historic milestone as the first-ever joint hosting of the Games by two institutions: University of Lagos (UNILAG) and Lagos State University (LASU).
The American University in Cairo ranked first on the medal table with 46 golds, 28 slivers, and 8 bronze, while LASU emerged second on the overall medals table behind American University in Cairo, with 28 golds, 30 silvers, and 26 bronze and UNILAG came third on the medal table with 25 golds, 33 slivers, and 40 bronze.
Making it the first time the country host will come second and third on the medal table.The next FASU Games will be hosted in Egypt in 2026.
