Residents of Unguwan Abuja in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State have expressed fear following the discovery of the body of a 38-year-old woman, Susuti Denhan, without her head.

Denhan was reportedly found dead on a mountain in the community on Saturday, a day after she left her home and failed to return.

According to reports, the woman, who was said to be deaf, left home on Friday, August 21. Her disappearance prompted family members and residents to begin searching for her.

The search reportedly led to the discovery of her body on the mountain, with her head missing.

The incident has raised fresh concerns over security in Girei, particularly as the community was reportedly confronted with another suspected ritual killing earlier in the week.

Residents are now worried about the safety of people in the area and have called for increased security measures to prevent further attacks.

The circumstances surrounding Denhan’s death remained unclear as of Saturday evening, while the identity and whereabouts of those responsible had not been established.

The Adamawa State Police Command had also not publicly commented on the incident or disclosed whether investigations or arrests had commenced at the time of filing this report.
